What Kind of Superhero Reader Are You?

Looking for a good book to read next? Take this “What Kind of Superhero Reader are You?” quiz. It will help you figure out what your reading personality is, so you can find that next great book more easily. Plus, it is fun!

Donate your time to the MRC

The MRC needs you!  We have a dedicated group of parent volunteers but we can use even more help.  If you can donate an hour or so of time each week, we need you.  We especially need people at these times:  Monday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, and Tuesday or Friday mornings.

There is a mouse in the library!

Thank you to the PTO for making the MRC even more beautiful. When he visited in February, Henry Cole drew a picture of Celeste, the main character in his book A Nest for Celeste. Our PTO framed that drawing along with a book cover and an explanation of Henry Cole’s visit. Thank you very much for this unexpected gift! It will always remind us of our shared reading experience. Please stop by the MRC to see it.Framed Nest for Celeste

Vote for the Children's Choice Award!

Powered by JacketFlap.com

Wasn’t it fun to vote for the Monarch and Bluestem Readers Choice Award winners? We joined with other students across Illinois to choose the winning 2012 Monarch and Bluestem books.

Now you have another chance to vote for a book award!
The Children's Choice Book Awards is the only national book awards program where the winning titles are selected by children and teens of all ages. Young readers can vote for their favorite books, author, and illustrator of the year at BookWeekOnline.com until Thursday, May 3, 2012. Guess what? A book illustrated by our friend Henry Cole is on the list. You can vote for Three Hens and a Peacock to support him!
