Our mission:

Believing that the Media Resource Center is an integral part of the educational program at Walker Elementary School, our mission is to encourage, promote, and assist students so they can be effective and discriminating users of ideas and information and to develop the skills necessary for independent life- long learning.  Emphasis is placed on the appreciation and enjoyment of literature and the motivation of reading for pleasure as well as for information.

To ensure the mission is accomplished, the Walker MRC Department will:

1. •Provide intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
   

2. •Provide instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
   

3. •Provide leadership, instruction, and consulting assistance in the use of instruction and informational technologies
